Originally constructed as a luxury diving charter in Komodo and then converted for surfing, Maki Boat spans three decks and is 105 ft / approx. 24 m long with deck width ~6 m and draught ~2.7 m. The design blends Indonesian boat-building tradition (in the Bugis/Phinisi style) with modern comfort, stability enhancements (lateral wings for reduced rocking) and high-end marine specs.

You’ll stay in one of five A/C-equipped guest cabins (three with ensuite bathrooms) and have plenty of social space: a lounge and dining room with two tables, open-plan kitchen, a dedicated board-room (with racks for up to ~50 surfboards) and multiple outdoor decks including a sun deck with day-beds, ideal for watching the sunset or simply relaxing between sessions.

Surfing is the focus. Maki Boat gives you access to the outstanding variety of waves the Mentawai Islands offer, lefts, rights, hollow barrels, long reeling walls, short punchy peaks, all in warm (~ 25 °C), crystal-clear water. The crew will read the swell conditions and move nightly if needed so you’ve got the best chance of scoring.

When you’re not in the water, you’re still in good hands, the boat offers plenty of extras: paddle-boards, kayaks, snorkelling gear, fishing gear, jetski (at additional cost), speedboat transfer/dinghies, and Starlink satellite internet so you’re never totally off-grid. The kitchen is well equipped and food is a highlight: full-board meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner), snacks, juice/coconut water, beers, and more.

• 35% non-refundable deposit required to secure your booking.
• Remaining 65% due 60 days before arrival.

Cancellation Policy

• This deposit is non-refundable if the booking is cancelled.
• In case of natural disasters or political instability (tsunami, earthquake, storms, floods, etc.) - no refund is offered but they commit to rescheduling where possible.
• Minimum group size requirement: Charter requires a minimum of 7 guests to confirm. If minimum is not met, guests will be reassigned to another date or receive a full refund (including deposit).
