About Moon Palikir
Moon Palikir stands out as a big-boat charter option in the Mentawai Islands; built to high specification, it gives you ample space, air-conditioning, modern amenities and a two-tender set-up that maximises surf time. With a length overall of about 35 m and width of 6.5 m, the vessel carries twin 420 HP Nissan RF10 engines and cruises at around 12 knots.
Accommodation is organised to avoid the typical “dorm” feel of many charters. One cabin features 4 single bunks; four cabins have 2 single bunks each; and one cabin offers a twin bed setup - total guest capacity typically up to 12. Communal spaces include a large indoor lounge/dining area with a 42″ TV/DVD, and generous outdoor deck areas for relaxing, socialising or watching the sunset.
Surf logistics are strong: the dual tender system (18ft + 12ft boats) enables quicker drop-offs and pick-ups at surf breaks, meaning more waves and less waiting. Meals are well catered: three chef-prepared meals daily, snacks throughout the day, and a boat stocked with cold drinks and beer allowances.
In summary: if you're looking for a surf charter that balances serious wave access with elevated comfort and space, Moon Palikir ticks the boxes and places you in one of the world’s premier surf destinations.
