About Hidden Bay

Private villas
Transfers excluded
Set meal times
Morning/afternoon guided surf windows

Hidden Bay Resort sits in a private, palm-fringed bay in the northern Mentawais, with quick boat hops to more than 24 breaks and two surfable waves right out front. Hideaways is around three minutes by boat, and a long, clean right sits at the edge of the bay for uncrowded windows. The location was chosen for consistency and access, so you spend less time in transit and more time on the reef.

Capacity is intentionally small. The resort hosts up to 12 surfers and 20 guests in private suites and shared Uma-style rooms, pairing sea views with comfort that genuinely helps recovery after long sessions. Think air conditioning, hot showers, quality bedding and a calm, quiet setting between the rainforest and a 1.5 kilometre white-sand beach. The Sikerei restaurant is the social anchor for sunrise coffee, healthy meals and sunset debriefs.

Hidden Bay leans into performance. There is a high performance training centre with daily warm up and recovery blocks, Pilates, yoga, meditation and biomechanics sessions, plus optional video packages with analysis to speed up progression. Guides know the reefs intimately and plan around wind, swell and crowds, then run fast boats so your best window lines up with your best board.

Packages are clear and flexible. Surf Explorer includes two guided boat trips per day, healthy full board and Starlink in the restaurant. The Ultimate adds daily physio-led sessions and video analysis for step-change gains. Non surfers can choose a boat-based adventure plan or a land-based island escape with Wi Fi, beaches and jungle trails. Transfers are organised end to end via the Mentawai Fast Boat, with a direct or public option and a schedule that lets most guests surf on both arrival and departure days.

Sustainability is not an afterthought. Solar power, zero plastic policies and septic systems are standard. The team also runs a coral restoration initiative in the bay using Biorock methods with regional partners, so your stay supports the reef you came to enjoy.
