Kandui Villas is a luxury surf resort in the heart of the Playgrounds, built to pair world class waves with comfort and thoughtful sustainability. The resort was founded in 2007 by the original founders of Kandui Resort, and it shows in the dialed logistics, family-friendly approach, and long Mentawai know-how.

Accommodation is a standout. There are eight hand-carved luxury umas plus one triple uma, eleven in total, each built from sustainably sourced hardwoods with Mentawai animal themes. Inside you get high-speed Wi-Fi, two air-conditioning units, hot-water showers, and a mini fridge, with clever rainwater cisterns built into the structure.

Between surfs the social hub feels like a small village. There is a 25 x 18 meter infinity-edge pool that overflows into a kiddie pool, with a salt-chlorinated system that keeps the water skin-friendly. Few Mentawai resorts have a pool of this scale, and it links by deck to the bar, game room and restaurant for an easy flow after long sessions.

Food is fresh and generous. The two-story restaurant runs a surf-friendly, farm-to-table menu that mixes Indonesian and international dishes, using produce from the on-island greenhouse and fruit orchard and local seafood whenever possible.

The wave map is the reason you come. Kandui Left is directly in front of the resort, Baby Kandui is next door, and Rifles sits a quick six-minute boat ride away. Dozens more breaks are within five to thirty minutes by fast boat in all directions, from playful runners to heavy barrels, and the guide team times runs to wind and tide.

Boats and services are deep. The fleet includes small dinghies, a center-console speedboat and multiple longboats for reaching further zones like Hideaways, Nipussi, Burgerworld and E-Bay. Add a gym and yoga uma, a big indoor-outdoor bar, a game room, pro photo and video services, a massage and spa program and family-friendly touches like nanny service to round out the stay.

Transfers are straightforward, with flexible stays built around Tuesday and Saturday movements, plus clear pre-trip guidance so your first real decision is which board to wax.

Booking Policy

• 35% non-refundable deposit required to secure your booking.
• Remaining 65% due 60 days before arrival.

Cancellation Policy

• Kandui Villas requires cancellations to be made at least 90 days before arrival; inside this window, no refunds or partial refunds are provided. Deposits, typically 50% of the total price, are non-refundable, and early departures or unused days cannot be credited or refunded.
