The Point Surf House sits on the south tip of Sipora at Katiet, in line with the famous Hollow Trees right.

The location is the hook. You can paddle to The Point out front, walk five minutes to HT’s, and scooter to a handful of other reefs on the peninsula, so you do not rely on boats for every session.

It feels like a surf town distilled to one pocket of beach and reef where the wind, tide and your legs decide the day.

The house is a stylish wooden beachfront stay set up for small groups and solo travellers. Six bedrooms sleeping up to fourteen guests, most with private or en-suite bathrooms, ocean views and strong air-conditioning, plus a communal deck and dining area that faces the lineup.

The vibe is social and easy, with three meals a day on many packages and coffee and tea always on.

Most importantly, what truly sets us apart is the connection we build with our guests - this isn’t just an Airbnb-style stay. We share meals, surfs, and create a family-style atmosphere that makes every stay memorable.

Wave choice spans mellow to serious. The Point is a long right that suits a wide range of levels. Step up around the corner to HT’s when the swell and tide line up for barrels. Add nearby options like Bintangs, Monkeys and Cobras, and you have a walk or short ride menu that covers rippable walls to proper tubes.

Guests can also book a surf guide or beginner lessons, and we have two soft-tops available for rent. Guides and staff keep an eye on wind and crowds so sessions land in the best windows.

We also have a small dinghy for fishing and spearfishing.

Getting here is straightforward. Fly to Padang, overnight if needed, then take the Mentawai Fast Ferry to Sipora. From Tuapejat it is a car ride to Katiet. Private Padang-to-Katiet speedboat charters are also possible for groups, typically about four hours with space for up to twelve.

There is enough comfort to recover and enough freedom to surf a lot. Off-water time can be filled with snorkelling, SUP, jungle walks and waterfall missions.

If you want to stay surf-fit, the paid open gym at neighbouring Hollow Trees Resort is a short stroll away.

Cancellation Policy

• The The Point Surf House has a non-refundable cancellation policy. Refunds are only provided for death or severe illness with a 2-month notice before check-in. In cases of uncontrollable events (e.g., natural disasters, travel bans), bookings may be rescheduled, but no compensation is guaranteed if services cannot be delivered. No refunds are given for missed transport, early departures, unused services, or disruptions due to weather, injuries, or COVID-19. Travel insurance is mandatory to cover any unforeseen circumstances.
