Villa Mentawai is a private, four-bedroom beachfront retreat on Simakakkang Island in Central Mentawai, designed for small crews who want comfort, flexibility and their own surf plan. You can book the entire villa or join a hosted trip and take a room, then run your days around the conditions with a private speedboat and local guide. No fixed schedules, fewer crowds, more time on the right bank.

The house stretches along 90 metres of quiet shoreline with an open lounge and bar at ground level, two large ensuite bedrooms downstairs, and two more bedrooms upstairs that share a bathroom and a garden-style outdoor shower. All rooms are air-conditioned. Power comes primarily from a 23 kW solar array, and fast Starlink keeps check-ins and clip swaps easy.

Waves are close and varied. From the villa you are minutes from Tikus, Telescopes, Icelands, Araks and Scarecrows, with easy day trips to South Sipora and the Playgrounds when the window opens. Sessions can be filmed, and coaching or photo and video packages are available on request.

Meals are included and generous, with healthy plates and snacks from a private chef, plus unlimited tea, coffee, drinking water and coconuts to keep you fuelled between surfs. Non-surf windows are easy to fill with snorkelling, SUP and fishing gear on hand.

Getting there is straightforward. Fly to Padang, overnight, then take the Mentawai Fast Ferry to Tua Pejat where the crew meets you for a five-minute boat hop to the villa. Ferry runs Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 07:00, and Sunday at 10:00, with returns the same afternoons. Private Padang-to-villa speedboat charters are also possible for groups.
